Learn how to render vibrant summer botanicals using Prismacolor pencils, celebrating the subtle textures, forms, and pigments unique to summer’s palette. Start with a brief introduction into the history of botanical illustration, foundational drawing techniques, and study of summertime botanicals. Then, learn how to observe and draw nature’s intricate details—from a plant’s petals, leaves, stems, and more. You’ll leave with a completed series of sketch studies and the makings of a final botanical piece for you to take home and complete using the skills gained in this class.
