Have you ever wondered what it takes to set up and maintain floral design exhibits at the Philadelphia Flower Show? Wonder no more!
Join Longwood Gardens instructor and professional floral designer Renee Tucci AIFD for an exclusive Philadelphia Flower Show experience, where you can go behind-the-scenes, meet with organizers, and gain a new perspective on the Show’s many incredible floral displays.
After departing Longwood at midday, spend the afternoon on the Flower Show floor, with opportunities to shop, gain insights from Tucci as both an educator and an exhibitor, and explore independently. Enjoy dinner with staff from the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, the organization behind the Flower Show, including Manager of Exhibitions and Production Hannah Mullen. Finally, return to the Flower Show after-hours for a unique glimpse at the behind-the-scenes work that goes into maintaining the incredible displays, and hear directly from Tucci about the unique considerations designers must bear in mind when planning for an exhibition like the Flower Show.
Itinerary (subject to change)
- 12:00 pm: Meet at Longwood and board bus for Philadelphia Flower Show
- 1:30 pm: Arrive at Philadelphia Flower Show
- 2:00 to 6:00 pm: Explore Philadelphia Flower Show with guidance from designer and exhibitor
- 6:30 to 8:00 pm: Dinner with Hannah Mullen, Manager of Exhibitions and Production for Pennsylvania Horticultural Society
- 8:00 to 9:30 pm: Return to Philadelphia Flower Show to discuss exhibition planning and considerations during maintenance period
- 9:40 pm: Board bus to return to LWG

Renee Tucci
Renee Tucci has more than 20 years of design and leadership experience in the industry. She was inducted into the American Institute of Floral Designers in 2016, Professional Floral Communicators Int'l in 2018 and the American Academy of Floriculture in 2022. She is an educator at an AIFD Education Partner in Bucks County, PA, and actively gives back to the industry by holding volunteer positions on both the Regional and National AIFD Board of Directors.
Tucci has participated in the Philadelphia Flower Show for the past 16 years, including 2020 when she was honored to be asked to produce The Princess Grace Rose Garden exhibit on behalf of the Embassy of Monaco. Her first book, Framing Floral Techniques, was published in October 2021. Connecting with fellow designers and bringing the floral community together is one of her truest passions. As a speaker to many garden clubs, a freelance floral designer for several studios and as an educator on several platforms, she is moved by the lives that she empowers with flowers.
