During this class, fabricate your own handmade metal orchid ornaments using copper and follow templates derived from specimens in Longwood’s collection to create a life-like finished piece. Practice traditional metalworking techniques of cutting, filing, and hammering, as well as cold connection techniques such as riveting, to create a unique design.

Hattie Weselyk

Hattie Weselyk is a self-taught jewelry artist who has been making jewelry since she retired as a professional ballerina to begin her family. Seeking a creative outlet after professional dance led her to an unexpected path. Weselyk purchased a beginner jewelry-making book from a local craft store and established an immediate connection and passion for artisanal work.
