Horticulture is essential to conservation—from saving species to saving habitats.
We conserve global plant diversity through plant exploration, research, propagation, and knowledge-sharing. We collaborate with organizations around the world to find, prioritize, study, and save plants that are threatened with extinction or that hold cultural significance.
We use our scientific resources to learn more about the plants in our living collections and seedbanks today, ensuring their future preservation. We teach others our methods for growing plants, share plants with other gardens, and support reintroducing plants into the wild. When possible, we showcase these plants in our displays to inspire guests and highlight the beauty that is in nature.
